YATAN came into being with a group of individuals and organisations coming together to make a meaningful social change. Ms. Shalini Kapoor, founder and President of YATAN intiated her work at grass root level with children of construction workers in Gurgaon. Shalini, who is a teacher by profession, belives that –
“Education should not be privilege . Education is the right of every child.”
With this aim in mind Yatan started its first centre in Kapasehra Village in 2015. Yatan provide free education , meals, stationery, counselling sessions and vocational training . Every winter we also undertake a blanket drive to provide warmth and comfort to the homeless against harsh winters.
प्रोत्साहन - Skill Development
Yatan also started प्रोत्साहन , a vocational training programme for women who were jobless due to outbreak of Covid. Under this programme, Yatan gives training to women in making environmentally friendly products like Dhoopbati , Diya's with cow dung ,colours and incense sticks with temple flowers.

To contribute our bit to save the environment , to become पर्यावरण मित्रवत We have undertaken workshops, awareness programmes to ban plastic, tree plantation drives and promote use of eco friendly products such as plantable stationery, cow dung diya and colours from temple flowers. We undertake corporate oders as well.
